Who are you?

Well, let’s start with who we were..doot designs formed from the experience and knowledge of William Doot Signs. Since 1948, William Doot has been providing the North Jersey and surrounding area with his sign making and lettering services as master craftsman. At the young age of 82 however, after more than half a century of work, he has decided to hang up the proverbial gloves (or skates, or cleats – actually in this case, brushes) and officially retire from William Doot Signs. At the end of 2008, Bill closed his business. But Bill's legacy is not gone. As William Doot Signs ends, doot designs has begun.

After spending many hours of his youth watching and helping his grandfather with his work, Frederick Doot, Bill’s grandson, has decided to continue with Bill’s superior work and services through doot designs. With Bill’s guidance and experience, Frederick (or just “Doot” as he’s typically called) has learned much about the industry of sign making and lettering. In addition to these skills, Doot brings along years of knowledge with both graphic design and web design. His education from William Paterson University and work as a tutor for students, faculty and staff at WPU and faculty at Rutgers University has enabled him to offer in-house tutoring of many software programs as well.
